The seed

“What am I here to do?” is the question most worth asking and the easiest to outsource to something that will happily answer for you. Purpose Pilot refuses to be that thing. It is a thinking aid, not an oracle: it will not tell you your purpose. It asks honest questions, then reflects your own words back in an organized shape so that patterns you already carry become legible.

Everything stays with you. The synthesis is built by plain, deterministic templating — no AI, no guessing, no network calls. It runs entirely in your browser, and nothing you write ever leaves your machine.

How it works

A single-page app walks you through a structured reflection sequence, each step grounded in a named framework, and then assembles a draft purpose statement and a structured summary from your answers. Each step builds on the ones before it.

  • The four domainsIkigai: what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, what you can be paid for.
  • What you actually value — values elicitation, picked and force-ranked down to the non-negotiable few.
  • Energy audit — the activities that give energy versus the ones that quietly drain it.
  • Peak moments — Maslow’s peak experiences: the conditions present in your richest moments.
  • Holding it to the light — a cross-reference step that composes prompts from your earlier answers: the common thread, and who it serves.
  • The long view — legacy and horizon: the honest sentence, and its honest cost.
  • Your draft purpose — a deterministic synthesis: a statement plus a structured summary, in your own words.

Why it matters

Most tools that touch something this personal either harvest it or answer over the top of you. Purpose Pilot keeps the work where it belongs — with the person doing it — and treats privacy as the precondition for honesty. You are more truthful when you are certain no one and nothing else is reading. Organizing your own reflections, rather than generating someone else’s, is what makes the patterns yours to act on.

Status

Prototyped. A working, zero-build, fully offline single-page prototype exists — the reflection sequence and deterministic synthesis run end to end in the browser with no install and no network. Next steps are refining the prompts, the synthesis templates, and the exportable summary.
